2027: Gemade charges APC leaders to mobilise for Tinubu, Alia’s re-election

The Chairman of the Benue State All Progressives Congress, APC, Campaign Advisory Council for Tinubu/Alia, Senator Barnabas Gemade, has urged party leaders and campaign coordinators to intensify mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections to secure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Hyacinth Alia and his deputy, Barrister Sam Ode.

Gemade made the call on Thursday during the inauguration of the Tinubu/Alia Campaign Council at IBB Square, Makurdi.

He cautioned those who believed they had the political influence to prevent governors from returning to office, reminding them that individuals with the capacity and experience to secure electoral victories were equally active.

Gemade described as misplaced the confidence of individuals and groups who, in his view, were attempting to undermine the APC's political prospects despite lacking a clear party identity and political direction.

He reaffirmed the campaign's commitment to the re-election project, expressing confidence that Governor Alia would win a second term in 2027.

He also charged members of the inaugurated campaign structure to approach their responsibilities with commitment, stressing that the task ahead was enormous and required seriousness, dedication and an unwavering sense of purpose.

Gemade said the campaign was not limited to Governor Alia but also covered President Tinubu, the deputy governor and all APC candidates who emerge through duly conducted party primaries.

He maintained that the APC had a defined political direction and electoral objectives, unlike political actors who, he alleged, moved between multiple political platforms within the same election cycle without demonstrating a consistent political identity.

"Our party has a focus and a goal. We are committed to electing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Hyacinth Alia, his deputy and all APC candidates who duly emerge through the party's primaries," he said.

Gemade urged the newly inaugurated campaign officials to remain focused, disciplined and committed to the assignment, noting that the campaign's success would depend largely on their ability to translate their positions into effective grassroots mobilisation.

He reiterated that the APC campaign was built around the re-election aspirations of President Tinubu and Governor Alia, as well as other duly nominated candidates of the party.
