2027: Bwacha’s kinsmen back Kefas for second term

By Femi Bolaji

JALINGO — KINSMEN of the  governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Taraba State, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, have declared total support for the re-election bids of Governor Agbu Kefas and President Bola Tinubu come 2027.

Operating under the umbrella of the Itchen APC Progressive Movement, the group announced the endorsement during a political meeting held at the residence of the Director-General of the Kefas re-election Campaign Organisation, Hon. Danladi Baido Tijo, in Jalingo.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Elder Assemboh Shamaki said their decision to back the governor’s second-term bid was based on his administration’s visible performance, especially in tackling insecurity and reviving critical public infrastructure.

Shamaki noted that the Kefas administration’s deliberate measures to curb banditry have restored relative peace to vulnerable rural settlements across the state.

He said: “Governor Kefas has prioritised the safety of lives and property and tackled criminality head-on across our communities.

“His administration has repositioned Taraba as one of the safest states, and we are proud to identify with his visionary leadership.

“We will embark on aggressive grassroots mobilisation to ensure the continuity of this administration in 2027.”

Responding, the Director-General of the Kefas Re-election Campaign Organisation, Hon. Danladi Baido Tijo, said the endorsement has laid to rest speculation that the Itchen ethnic extraction was alienated from the present administration.

Baido maintained that historical precedent favours the incumbent, noting that every elected governor in Taraba State since 1999 has secured a second term.

He urged other political blocs across the state to emulate the Itchen community by queuing behind Governor Kefas to sustain Taraba’s current development momentum.
